Nicklas Berild Lundblad
Senior Advisor, Sweden, Stockholm
Nicklas is one of Sweden’s most experienced advisors in the fields of technology and public policy. For more than two decades, he has built and led global public affairs and policy teams for some of the world’s most pioneering companies – most recently as Senior Director of Global Policy & Public Affairs at DeepMind, and prior to that as Head of Global Tech Policy at Stripe. He also spent over ten years in a series of senior roles at Google, including Vice President of Public Policy for all of Google’s operations across EMEA.
His work ranges from strategic policy analysis to complex regulatory advisory, and he has appeared before bodies including EU committees and G7 meetings. In addition to his advisory role, Nicklas is the author of several books on the societal impact of technology, a board member of both tech and financial companies, an Eisenhower Fellow, and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences.
Holding a PhD in informatics, a BA in theoretical philosophy with a focus on AI, and a law degree specialising in IT law, he combines academic rigour with practical experience in navigating technology-driven transformation. He also serves as a Senior Fellow of Practice at the Technical University of Munich’s think tank and as a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Analysis in Brussels and Washington, DC.
